Bordeaux 2015 vintage was somewhat variable but overall a very good vintage. When a winery got it right, it was excellent. At Paradise Rescued it was very good and the Cabernet Franc excelled.
The first half of the season was very warm with very little rain falling until after flowering. July was a scorcher before rain began and then deluged to a record wet in August. September was calmer with steady breezes keeping the grapes dry and rot free before a late September start to red grape harvesting.
The B1ockOne 2015 is all about the fruit. Aromas of violets and strawberries, very fruit forward red fruit flavour and the endless Paradise Rescued zing and spicy length. the 2015 will age well but is equally ready to enjoy now. Great aperitif wine and perfect with all roast meats, white meat dishes, meaty fish and mild / goats cheese.
B1ockOne is a rare Bordeaux 100% Cabernet Franc varietal wine, one of less than 10 made in Bordeaux.
B1ockOne 2015 was awarded a Double Gold medal with a 96 point rating at the 2021 Melbourne International Wine Competition.
"Quite simply, one of the best Cabernet Franc's we have made - to date. A combination of a good growing season and several years of hard work in the vineyard have come together. To win a Double Gold medal / 96 point show rating has made us very proud." David Stannard, Owner
