B1ockOne Cabernet Franc

B1ockOne Bordeaux Cabernet Franc is our first and Foundation wine – one vineyard block, one grape variety, one wine B1ockOne. It is almost a unique wine from the world's most prestigious and largest vineyards -  Cabernet Franc being one of the three top grape varieties used in Bordeaux blends, but less well known than Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. But so much more, with the finesse and aromatic complexity that only this noble grape can achieve when given centre stage. Less than a dozen 100% varietal Cabernet Franc wines are produced in Bordeaux. 

B1ockOne allows the true character of Bordeaux Cabernet Franc to shine. On the nose, it the elegant bouquet of raspberries and red currants mellows to red cherries with age. 10 months of oak maturation adds generous complexity but retains freshness and fruit, finishing with the Paradise Rescued trademark long spicy finish. An excellent food friendly wine and equally perfect as an aperitif. Can be served lightly chilled in summer.

BlockTwo Merlot Cab Franc

Born from the "Hourcat Centre" vineyard, BlockTwo is a Bordeaux "Right Bank" blend wine, comprising 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The foundation of the vineyard began with the 2011 purchase and subsequent rejuvenation of our "Old Vine Block" Merlot vines - now 68 years old. Our new Merlot vines were planted in 2014 being slowly introduced into full production from 2017 / 18 onwards.

The combination of the soft, concentrated fresh fruit of Merlot together with the vibrant, aromatic elegance of our trademark Cabernet Franc, creates a wine of exceptional balance. Certified organic and handcrafted with minimal intervention, BlockTwo is a Bordeaux wine that is "fruit forward" and approachable in its youth but possesses the both the quality and structure to age gracefully—a true reflection of our healthy, living soils.

Block3 Merlot

Block3 Merlot is a continuation of the growing Paradise Rescued tradition and reputation for full varietal Bordeaux wines. Handcrafted from both our Hourcat Centre "Old Block" and young merlot vines, Block3 is a rich smooth full bodied Bordeaux with the usual fruit forward taste and a splash of freshness. Drink young or cellar as you wish.

B4ock4 Petit Verdot Cabernet Franc

Planted behind (to the north) of our Paradise Rescued garage winery (alongside the top of the Hourcat Centre Merlot block) there are four short rows of Cabernet Franc and four Petit Verdot. They were planted there to provide biodiversity within the vineyard and to trial different regenerative organic practices. 

During the 2023 vintage harvest, this parcel was the last one to be harvested and the destemmed fruit was collected together and then fermented in one of our small 500 litre vats. We were so impressed with the result that we decided to bottle and brand it separately as B4ock4. The 50/50 combination of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc is a stunning exciting fruit full deep coloured wine combining the best of the fruit finesse and spice that is Cabernet Franc with bold richness colour and soft tannins.

This 50/50 Petit Verdot Cabernet Franc wine surprised us, we think B4ock4 will surprise you too.
