2017 was a more challenging vintage in Bordeaux following three very successful years. A warm finish to the winter months started an early bud break before they were checked by a late April frost that impacted directly on the westerly rows of our Merlot vineyard. The year continued warm to hot (especially June) before heavy rains finally arrived. The harvest was again early before further rain arrived.
The Paradise Rescued vineyards required a lot of hands on work to mitigate the rapidly changing weather. The fruit was somewhat heterogenous and small in total quantity requiring a lot of attention at harvest to hand pick the best.
The organic wines are fruity forward and easy to drink in the Paradise Rescued tradition.
Paradise Rescued BlockTwo 2017 is a 75% Merlot 25% Cabernet Franc Bordeaux blend.
