2017 was a more challenging vintage in Bordeaux following three very successful years. A warm finish to the winter months got buds breaking early before they were checked by a late April frost. The year continued warm and was especially hot in June before heavy rains finally arrived. The harvest was again early before further rain arrived.
The Paradise Rescued vineyards required a lot of work to mitigate the rapidly changing weather. The fruit was somewhat heterogenous and small in total quantity necessitating a lot of attention at harvest to hand pick the best.
The organic wines are fruity forward, easy to drink with fresh acidity in the Paradise Rescued tradition. Paradise Rescued B1ockOne 2017 is a 100% Cabernet Franc Bordeaux wine.

"Deepish ruby with a hint of garnet on the rim, the wine shows strawberry, raspberry and blue plum fruit with crushed rose petal and cedar wood. The mid-weight palate exhibits juicy fruit with brisk acidity, velvet tannins and a lengthy finish. Nicely integrated gentle vanilla oak adds dimension, suggesting a good match for artisanal exotic meat terrines or saucissons with cornichons on the side." Global Cabernet Franc Masters
